Gazi University Industrial Arts Education Faculty Family and Consumer Science Education Department Gazi University carries out its educational and research activities with its 15 faculties, 5 colleges, 15 Vocational High Schools, 35 research centres and 6 institutes. It still claims it is a higher education institution which is worthy to Atatürk. Gazi University carries out its education in different campuses. Having four campus called Besevler, Emek, Maltepe and Gölbasi in Ankara. With its 60 thousand students and more than 3000 academic staff the university is close to the world average in terms of the number of students per instructor. Gazi is one of the big universities with its faculties from education to communication, from fine arts to engineering, sports to forestry, medicine to pharmacy, dentistry to science and arts, economics to technology. Being the leader of the country with its education faculties. Gazi University has faculties of Industrial Arts Education, Gazi Education, Vocational Education, Technical Education, Commerce and Tourism Education. Gazi University Faculty of Industrial Arts Education was established in 1992. The mission of the faculty is to train teachers and instructors for vocational and technical education programs. Graduates are entitled to be employed as teachers at vocational schools. Besides, they are also able to attend and work in the related service and industry sectors. Very recently, the education programs have been adapted to the needs of the industry, with the Industrial Arts Education Faculty (IAEF) containing high qualified training staff in the field of vocational and long-life education and training with experience both in academic institutions and businesses. The Family and Consumer Science Education Department was established to provide specialist for private and public sector and to train family science and consumer education course teachers, as well as optional home economy course in the primary schools of the Ministry of National Education.
